Multicellular organisms are made up of cells that are constantly dividing in a process called mitosis. One cell will divide into two new daughter cells. These newer cells will replace older, dying cells.
Mitosis makes up part of a larger cell process known as the cell cycle. This cycle is diagrammed in Figure 1 and Table 1.
